Top Options
| NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
|---|---|---|
| Derek Norris (SD) | vs. COL | 9 |
| Jonathan Lucroy (MIL) | at PHI | 9 |
| Evan Gattis (HOU) | vs. OAK | 8 |
| Wilson Ramos (WAS) | at CIN | 8 |
| Stephen Vogt (OAK) | at HOU | 8 |
| Matt Wieters (BAL) | vs. NYY | 8 |
Norris' fortunes seem to be finally turning around. He is 4-for-8 over his last two games. His K-rate is still far too high, but he's been hitting the ball too well (only 13.8 percent soft contact) to continue to fail. Lucroy is one of the most likely at the position to produce on a given night and has gone 13 for his last 35 with three home runs and 12 RBIs.
Ramos has been the opposite of Norris in terms of BABIP (.352) and, more favorably, in K-rate (11.7 percent). Ramos makes contact and he's on pace to eclipse his top power numbers. Wieters sat out Thursday, which means he'll likely play both Friday and Saturday. He's been hitting on the cusp of .400 over his last 10 with a bit of power to boot.

Mid-Tier Targets
| NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
|---|---|---|
| Buster Posey (SF) | at STL | 7 |
| Victor Martinez (DET) | vs. CWS | 6 |
| Russell Martin (TOR) | at BOS | 6 |
| Welington Castillo (ARI) | at CHC | 6 |
| Brett Nicholas (TEX) | vs. SEA | 6 |
| J.T. Realmuto (MIA) | vs. NYM | 6 |
| Chris Herrmann (ARI) | at CHC | 5 |
| Christian Vazquez (BOS) | vs. TOR | 5 |
| Bobby Wilson (TEX) | vs. SEA | 5 |
| David Ross (CHC) | vs. ARI | 5 |
| Curt Casali (TB) | at MIN | 5 |
| Yadier Molina (STL) | vs. SF | 5 |
Posey is the best hitting catcher in the game, no doubt, but his DFS salary is elevated too much over his peers. If he sits, don't bother with backup Trevor Brown. Castillo and Herrmann eat into each other's playing time. Castillo should come a little cheaper and traditionally has a better power profile.
Wilson is hitting .304 -- anomalous considering his career average is .215. Teammate Nicholas, should he play, should be a slightly better option with better power upside. Casali's six home runs somewhat offset his .183 batting average but not enough to make him a must-roster.
Nothing to See Here
| NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
|---|---|---|
| Miguel Montero (CHC) | vs. ARI | 4 |
| Dustin Garneau (COL) | at SD | 4 |
| Rene Rivera (NYM) | at MIA | 4 |
| Yan Gomes (CLE) | vs. KC | 3 |
| Blake Swihart (BOS) | vs. TOR | 3 |
| A.J. Ellis (LAD) | vs. ATL | 2 |
| Hank Conger (TB) | at MIN | 2 |
| Chris Iannetta (SEA) | at TEX | 2 |
| Brian McCann (NYY) | at BAL | 1 |
Gomes is in a very similar situation to Norris, as his BABIP is so low that it shouldn't be sustainable. After a brief, two-game surge, he's gone 1-for-17 in five games. It's difficult to endorse that production despite the potential he's displayed in the past. McCann could easily sit with a hyper-extended elbow. Don't invest.
