Baylor failed to submit Devin Duvernay's LOI

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Baylor recruit Devin Duvernay, the third-ranked wide-receiver prospect in the nation, is no longer committed to the program because the school failed to submit the paperwork for his letter of intent.

Baylor confirmed the blunder and Duvernay's status as a recruiting free agent to John Wener of the Waco Tribune-Herald. The story was first reported by ESPN's Max Olson and Gerry Hamilton, who cited Big 12 sources and Duvernay's family.

Duvernay was already seeking a release from his letter of intent amid the turmoil at Baylor surrounding the school's alleged sexual assault scandal. His twin brother Donovan has also sought a release, though it's unknown if Baylor will grant it. There's no indication of any issues with Donovan's letter of intent.
