Report: Hugo Lloris snubs Tottenham's new contract offer

Hugo Lloris has inevitably alerted numerous clubs in Europe after reportedly turning down Tottenham Hotspur's offer of a new five-year deal.

The north London outfit is keen to build on a season in which it mounted a serious title challenge, prompting chairman Daniel Levy to try and tie down the 29-year-old goalkeeper beyond the current agreement which concludes in 2019.

The former Lyon shot-stopper hasn't signed the paperwork, however, as he believes he merits a more lucrative wage, according to The Mirror's John Cross.

Despite being widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers on the continent, Lloris has remained loyal to Spurs even though he has yet to represent the club in the Champions League. After finishing third in 2015-16, next season will offer a foray into Europe's most prestigious tournament for the 'keeper, but Paris Saint-Germain is among what is expected to be a large contingent of suitors should Lloris appear disillusioned with life in the English capital.

In a position where manager Didier Deschamps boasts an embarrassment of riches, Lloris stands ahead of Steve Mandanda and Benoit Costil in the goalkeeping pecking order ahead of France's Euro 2016 opener against Romania on June 10.
