3rd straight year of co-champs at Scripps National Spelling Bee
Despite efforts to avoid it, the 2016 Scripps National Spelling Bee has crowned co-champions for the third year in a row.
Fifth-grader Nihar Janga and his seventh-grade counterpart Jairam Hathwar outlasted the field to take home the title, and both were pretty darn excited about the news:

Despite an increase from 25 to 75 championship words (an effort made by organizers to avoid another tie,) the last two spellers couldn't be fooled as Jairam nailed "Feldenkrais" before Nihar correctly spelled "gesellschaft" to seal the co-title.
