Mutombo: Biyombo doesn't need my permission to finger wag

Dikembe Mutombo has graciously cleared up finger-wag-gate, thus squashing the NBA's silliest controversy.

It started when Toronto Raptors center Bismack Biyombo said he'd been given license by Mutombo to emulate his countryman's famous block-celebrating taunt. Mutombo then told TMZ Sports he didn't remember any such conversation taking place, joking that he and Biyombo "need to talk this summer."

Mutombo probably didn't foresee such innocuous comments getting blown up into an actual story, and he hastily cleared the air.

"He doesn't need my permission to do (the finger wag)," Mutombo said Tuesday, according to ESPN's Mike Mazzeo. "Bismack is my youngest brother. I have nothing to be mad at him."

Mutombo added that he's proud of Biyombo, who's become something of a folk hero this postseason, and said the two - who refer to each other as brothers - text all the time. Mutombo said he constantly sends messages of support.

So, yeah, that oughta settle that. Gotta wonder if Biyombo got permission to do the Usain Bolt, though.
