Seahawks' Baldwin calls out Goodell after congressional report

A U.S. congressional report, obtained by Outside the Lines, concluded that the NFL attempted to influence a government study on football and brain disease.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin was the first player to issue a response Monday, directing his call for change to league commissioner Roger Goodell.

The congressional report found that the NFL pressured the National Institutes of Health to remove Boston University researcher Robert Stern from the project. Stern had previously been critical of the league's handling of concussion issues.

The NFL went against its signed agreement and pulled funding when the NIH refused, leaving taxpayers to pick up the costs.
