Report: Sevilla boss Emery set for Everton talks

Recently crowned Europa League champ Unai Emery is reportedly set to talk to Everton about its managerial position, which has been vacant since Roberto Martinez's sacking on May 12.

Everton expects to meet with the Sevilla manager before Thursday, reports James Ducker of the Telegraph, although it's not clear whether he's the Toffees' first choice.

Former Ajax gaffer Frank de Boer and Southampton boss Ronald Koeman have also been linked to the job, and Ducker notes ex-Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is available.

Emery was on the losing side in the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona on Sunday, but celebrated a third consecutive Europa League win with the Andalusians days earlier, vaulting the former Valencia manager into contention for a coveted gig with the Merseysiders.

Notoriously demanding and hands-on, Emery could be the perfect appointment for a club in flux that's facing the potential departure of stars Romelu Lukaku, Ross Barkley, and John Stones.

The Toffees are looking to bounce back from an underwhelming campaign after finishing 11th, 19 points back of a coveted fourth-place Champions League spot.
