Report: Police records show more violence allegations at Baylor

More allegations surfaced Wednesday about sexual assault and domestic violence involving current and former Baylor players, while the university's Board of Regents reviews findings from an independent law firm's review into previous charges.

ESPN's Outside the Lines obtained police documents that show some Baylor officials, including coaches, knew of many of the incidents, yet didn't discipline the players involved.

One particular case from 2011 involved an assault at an off-campus event that ended with three players being charged. According to documents, Waco police took "extraordinary" steps to hide it from public view. The department's investigating officer asked a commander that "the case be pulled from the computer system so that only persons who had a reasons to inquire about the report would be able to access it."

The allegations are the latest in a series of incidents that have rocked the university. Former or current Bears Sam Ukwuachu, Tevin Elliott, Tre'Von Armstead, Shamycheal Chatman, and Shawn Oakman have faced allegations or charges of sexual assault or domestic violence.

A recently discovered case from 2014 found an alleged victim, a female Baylor student, notifying team chaplain Wes Yeary, head coach Art Briles, and university president Ken Starr that her boyfriend assaulted her on two occasions. The complainant said neither Briles nor the university disciplined her then-ex-boyfriend. She didn't push for criminal charges because she was about to graduate and didn't think the school would punish the player.

"I'd seen other girls go through it, and nothing ever happened to the football players," she said. "It's mind-boggling to see it continue to happen. I think as long as they're catching footballs and scoring touchdowns, the school won't do anything."

The report also outlined new allegations of domestic violence or sexual assault against current running back Devin Chafin, former cornerback Tyler Stephenson, and former All-American safety Ahmad Dixon.

With the new allegations adding to the lengthy list of charges against players associated with Briles program, the Board of Regents have even more to review as they continue to meet regarding a solution to the growing issue.
