Ronaldo inks contract extension with Real Madrid until 2021

Cristiano Ronaldo will continue celebrating his goals at the Santiago Bernabeu for the foreseeable future, as Real Madrid announced Sunday the Portuguese megastar has agreed to a contract extension with the club until 2021.
"The official event for the renewal of Cristiano Ronaldo's contract will take place tomorrow, Monday 7 November at 1:30 pm in the presidential box at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium," read a statement. "The Portuguese forward will extend his contract until 30 June 2021 at the event attended by club president Florentino Pérez and the player himself."
Should he see out the entirety of his new deal, Ronaldo will be 36 years old by the time his contract expires.
Real Madrid's all-time leading scorer after surpassing iconic striker Raul last year, the photogenic attacker has long said that he expects himself to be playing, and producing, at the highest level for years to come.
"I'm going to retire at Real Madrid at 40-something. I'm very happy here, I've worked hard to be where I am," Ronaldo said in June.
Sunday's announcement sees the 31-year-old follow in the footsteps of teammates Gareth Bale, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Lucas Vazquez, all of whom have recently put pen to paper on fresh contracts.
