Syndergaard clowns around in NYC as Thor

Noah Syndergaard is really living up to his nickname.

The New York Mets right-hander, who's earned the alias of Thor thanks to his resemblance to the Marvel superhero, took to the streets of New York City in late April in costume. SportsNet New York has now released video footage of his day in the Big Apple.

Syndergaard posed with Elmo, searched out ale, and even got some terrible directions to Asgard from a local.

The 23-year-old flamethrower was responsible for the two fastest pitches in the bigs during the 2016 campaign before Aroldis Chapman's suspension ended. He's striking out hitters at a rate of 11.5 per nine innings for the National League-leading Mets.
