Rennes stud Dembele not interested in joining Leicester City

Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year Ousmane Dembele knows where he's going next, and it's not Leicester City.

The newly crowned Premier League champion joined a long queue of suitors earlier this week for the Stade Rennes teenager, who has scored 12 goals in his debut season in the French top flight.

Manager Claudio Ranieri even phoned Dembele to convince him of a move to Leicester, but the answer on the other end of the line was no.

"I was surprised to hear from (Ranieri) but I told him I will not be going to Leicester. He doesn't speak French very well," Dembele said in an interview with French daily Ouest-France. "I do hope to be playing in the Champions League, but I know where I'm going and it's final."

He said he's not thinking about a surprising call-up to the French national team for Euro 2016, instead focusing solely on his next career move.

Preparing for his final game for Rennes on Saturday against Bastia, Dembele is satisfied with all he's done in the six years he's spent with the Brittany club. He started as a youth player in 2010 and made his full senior debut last November.
