San Diego State got some good news late Sunday evening.

Former San Francisco guard Devin Watson announced he will be transferring to Steve Fisher's squad to continue his college career. Watson will have two years of eligibility remaining, but will have to sit out the 2016-17 campaign because of NCAA transfer rules.

Watson announced his intentions to transfer last month, after the Dons fired head coach Rex Walters. The sophomore is coming off a strong season, averaging 20.3 points and 4.9 assists per game while being named first-team All-WCC.

Despite winning 28 games, the Aztecs missed out on March Madness this season after making three straight NCAA tournament appearances. Watson should give them a boost offensively, as San Diego State averaged only 72.5 points per game in 2015-16.
