Ranieri pleased with Leicester's heart in draw vs. Manchester United

Claudio Ranieri never had any doubt that Leicester City would come back to secure at least a point Sunday at Old Trafford.

Manchester United took an early lead through Anthony Martial after a breakdown in the Leicester defence, but Wes Morgan inspired a response by heading in the equaliser for the visiting Foxes in the 17th minute. In the end, Leicester had to settle for a 1-1 draw on a day when it could've clinched an incredible and unlikely Premier League title.

Ranieri, who admitted that his team showed some nerves, was most proud of the way his players fought back - and not for the first time this season.

"I wasn't worried because we have very good heart and I knew we would react," Ranieri told Sky Sports after the match. "The performance was good after 15 minutes, when we were a little scared. United started very well and it was difficult for us to restart. After the goal we played better, and I think the draw is the right result.

"For us it was important to show our mentality. The beginning wasn't good but after that I appreciated our performance."

The Italian manager lamented the absence of Jamie Vardy, who could only watch as he served the last game of his suspension. After all, Leicester could only muster three shots on target.

The draw now leaves Leicester in waiting. If Tottenham cannot beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday, the Foxes will be crowned the Premier League's sixth champion.
