Goodell hints that gambling wouldn't hinder Raiders' potential move to Las Vegas

The Oakland Raiders' flirtation with Las Vegas appears to be growing into a serious consideration, with owner Mark Davis saying he wants to move his franchise to Sin City and would be willing to put up $500 million for a new stadium.

One of the main roadblocks for moving an NFL franchise to Las Vegas has been the league's strong stance against gambling. However, commissioner Roger Goodell was asked on ESPN radio Friday whether it would be an issue for a potential Raiders relocation, and indicated that the league's stance could be softening.

"All of us have evolved a little bit on gambling," Goodell said, according to ESPN's Kevin Seifert. "To me, where I cross the line is anything that can impact on the integrity of the game. If people think it is something that can influence the outcome of a game, we are absolutely opposed to that."

Whether the Raiders truly view it as a viable destination, or are simply using it as leverage in negotiations with the city of Oakland, it appears a team moving to Las Vegas isn't as far-fetched as some believed.
