Washington Capitals forward Jason Chimera had a glorious chance to give his team a late lead in the third period of Game 1, but Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Trevor Daley had other ideas.
Chimera got his stick on the puck behind Penguins goaltender Matt Murray after the initial shot hit the post, but Daley got just enough of Chimera to prevent him from scoring a goal that would have given the Capitals a 4-3 lead with less than eight minutes left in regulation.
The goal light went on, but no goal was scored and no penalty was called on the play.
