Jake Arrieta wasn't buying into comments made by ESPN analysts Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless regarding his pitching performance amid PED whispers.

After Arrieta called the players questioning whether he's been taking steroids "idiots," Smith and Bayless decided Wednesday to give their opinions on the matter:

Arrieta didn't appreciate what the analysts had to say and the right-hander decided to reply to Smith on Twitter, citing "hard work" as being responsible for his success:

Arrieta has seen his career, which was initially floundering as a member of the Baltimore Orioles, skyrocket to new heights since joining the Cubs in a 2013 trade.

He won the 2015 NL Cy Young award after posting a 22-6 record with a 1.77 ERA, and is currently a perfect 4-0 with a 0.87 ERA in 2016.
