Report: Bradford won't demand trade from Eagles

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

Quarterback Sam Bradford hasn't demanded a trade from the Philadelphia Eagles and has no plans to do so, sources told Yahoo Sports' Charles Robinson.

Bradford signed a big money deal with the Eagles ahead of free agency, but appears not to be in the team's long-term plans after they traded up to the draft's second overall pick. There, it's widely accepted the Eagles will select either North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz or Cal passer Jared Goff.

Robinson reports Bradford will embrace the challenge of competing to prove he is a franchise quarterback.

By all appearances, he will have a full year to do it. The Eagles seem intent on sitting their rookie quarterback on the bench for a "redshirt" season and handing the reins to Bradford, who will earn $22 million guaranteed in 2016.

After that, it's anybody's guess where the relationship will go. By 2017, the Eagles will almost certainly want their young quarterback to start and Bradford will be a candidate for trade or release.
