Baltimore Orioles right-hander Yovani Gallardo could miss approximately four weeks due to his ailing right shoulder, according to the Baltimore Sun's Eduardo A. Encina.
Gallardo was placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday with right shoulder biceps tendinitis.
He reportedly received a cortisone shot on Sunday and will rejoin the club Monday to continue treatment.
The pitcher underwent an MRI on Sunday that didn't reveal any damage since his physical in February.
After signing a two-year, $22-million deal in the offseason, Gallardo owns a 7.00 ERA and 1-1 record in four starts this year.
