Warriors GM: Curry's 2-week timeline 'an educated guess'

When it was announced that Stephen Curry's sprained right knee would be re-evaluated in two weeks, most took that to mean the Golden State Warriors would be without the reigning MVP for at least that long.

According to Warriors general manager Bob Myers, that's not necessarily the case.

"We took, to be honest, an educated guess," Myers said Monday, referencing the historical precedent of a Grade 1 MCL sprain.

"We said two weeks, but that's no guarantee that it will be in two weeks. It might be after two weeks. It might be before. I think it will be somewhere in that range."

For Curry and the Warriors, every day counts.

Assuming the two-week timeline, Curry's return could be on or around May 9, with Game 1 of their second-round series against either the Los Angeles Clippers or Portland Trail Blazers - in the event Golden State holds on to beat Houston - coming on May 1 or May 3.

A return around the middle of the conference semifinals would seem to be most realistic, then.

In the meantime, the Curry-less Warriors will look to finish off the Rockets when Game 5 tips off Wednesday at Oracle Arena.
