Report: Braden to replace Schilling on 'Monday Night Baseball'

Dallas Braden, the retired left-hander best remembered for tossing a perfect game with the Oakland A's in 2010, will reportedly replace the recently fired Curt Schilling on "Monday Night Baseball," according to Richard Sandomir of the New York Times.

Braden, 32, has been with the network since 2014, landing a job as a "Baseball Tonight" analyst not long after retiring with a "shredded mess" of an arm. Last year, the Braden received his first crack at color commentary, sporadically joining veteran play-by-play man Dave Flemming in the booth for live telecasts while continuing to appear on "Baseball Tonight."

"As a baseball analyst, Dallas oozes passion and enthusiasm,” Phil Orlins, ESPN MLB senior coordinating producer, said in March. “He brings energy, knowledge and a blue collar personality that connects with our viewers, just like it did with the fans in Oakland.”
