Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is apparently overjoyed with his new protector.

The Raiders took a huge step in improving Carr's offensive line by handing guard Kelechi Osemele a huge contract during free agency, and standing at 6-foot-5 and 330 pounds, Osemele wowed Carr the first time the two met at the Raiders' training facility.

"The first time I saw that guy, I couldn't believe how big he was, not just how big he was because all offensive linemen are big, but that guy is jacked," Carr said, according to Scott Bair of CSN Bay Area. "You could tell that he's not just a big guy. He's cut, he's lean. It's just like, 'You weigh what? And you look like that?' It's unreal. The guy is a freak of nature."

Carr had an outstanding season in 2015 and with the addition of Osemele, he'll been in prime position to take another leap with arguably one the league's best offensive lines giving him all the time he needs in the pocket - which Osemele has guaranteed his new quarterback.

"The first time I saw him, I walked up to him and gave him a hug and said, "Hey, thanks for coming here.'" Carr said. "He just laughed and said, 'Not a problem, man. You'll have all day.' I said, 'All right. I'll hold you to it.'"
