Chicago Cubs right-hander Jake Arrieta has thrown his second career no-hitter Thursday against the Cincinnati Reds.

The reigning NL Cy Young winner threw 119 pitches, striking out six batters and walking four in the Cubs' 16-0 win, the second most runs in a no-no in MLB history behind the 1884 Buffalo Bisons, according to ESPN.

This marks the 15th no-hitter in franchise history. Arrieta becomes the third pitcher in Cubs history with multiple no-hitters, joining Larry Corcoran (3) and Ken Holtzman (2).

"It feels different the second time," Arrieta said postgame. "I was a little more relaxed as the game progressed. And based on the way I threw the ball before the game started, I anticipated having to grind through some at-bats and some innings."

For Arietta, he continues to prolong the best stretch of any pitcher in the majors.

Since his last loss on July 25, 2015 against the Philadelphia Phillies, the Cubs have won in each of his last 17 starts. Over that stretch, he's pitched 178 innings and owned a sparkling 0.65 ERA.

Arrieta's last no-hitter came on Aug. 30, 2015 against the Los Angeles Dodgers. His nine starts between no-hitters is the third-shortest gap between no-no's in MLB history.

The Reds previously held the mark for the longest stretch without being no-hit in the regular season, dating back to June 23, 1971. That record now belongs to the Oakland Athletics, who haven't been victimized since 1991.
