A return to Italy could be on the horizon for Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani following a frustrating three years with the French champions.

Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta revealed that the reigning Italian champions could make a push for the former Napoli man this summer as the team looks to re-tool following its exit from the Champions League.

"Cavani is a great player," Marotta told Anch'io Lo Sport, as translated by ESPN FC. "We're looking ahead because, as I have already said, we need to know that we can form a competitive team not only for Italy, but also for Europe, because we want to do even better in Europe than we have done in the past.

"We're going to be measuring ourselves up to very big clubs, so our objective is to seize any opportunity. Today I can only say that he is a PSG player. I don't even know if he's on the market, but he is certainly an interesting player."

Since joining PSG from Napoli in 2013, Cavani has struggled to find regular playing time under manager Laurent Blanc, and has since described his time with the capital-city team as the "hardest three years" of his career.

Despite Cavani's frustrations over playing time, the Uruguayan striker has still managed to find the back of the net 20 times in all competitions.
