Johnny Manziel still wants to be "Johnny Football."

The troubled former Cleveland Browns quarterback released a statement Tuesday to USA Today following his split with agent Drew Rosenhaus.

"I’m hoping to take care of the issues in front of me right now so I can focus on what I have to do if I want to play in 2016,” Manziel wrote in the statement. “I also continue to be thankful to those who really know me and support me."

Rosenhaus officially dropped Manziel on Tuesday after warning the quarterback last week that he had five days to get help and start attempting to come back to football.

Manziel's court case regarding an alleged assault against an ex-girlfriend is set to go to the grand jury Thursday.

"So many people only have one image of Jonathan but, believe it or not, he takes all this very seriously,” Manziel’s spokesperson told USA Today. “He’s hoping that he can clear up his personal issues, start interviewing agents and see what he needs to do if he wants to play this year."
