Les Miles: 'Leonard Fournette's got to trim up'
LSU's Leonard Fournette is one of the most unstoppable players in recent history, but his coach thinks there's one area his star running back needs to improve.
"Leonard Fournette's got to trim up," coach Les Miles told Ross Dellenger of The Advocate after Saturday's spring game. "For him to get the speed he's capable of, I think he needs to be lighter."
Miles suggested Fournette was overweight last year as well, and he responded with a season for the ages. The Tigers star played at a listed weight of 230 lbs., and rushed for an absurd 1,953 yards and 22 touchdowns.
It's unclear what weight he is carrying for spring practice, but it seems Miles isn't pleased with the number. With almost five months to go before LSU opens the 2016 season, Fournette has plenty of time to drop down to his coach's desired playing weight.
