Report: Chelsea in for Fulham teen Moussa Dembele

Ahead of a summer of flux with the arrival of Antonio Conte, Chelsea is reportedly monitoring Fulham's French strike sensation Moussa Dembele.

Keen to strengthen an attack that features Diego Costa and the perpetually-injured outgoing duo of Radamel Falcao and Loic Remy, Chelsea shifted its attention to the 19-year-old Paris Saint-Germain academy product, according to Simon Johnson and Tom Collomosse of the Evening Standard.

With six matches remaining, Chelsea has 49 goals on the campaign, paltry when compared to last season's title-winning total of 73, signalling the need for an improved strike force.

Chelsea is the second London side to show interest in Dembele, with Tottenham initially compelled to sign the striker during the January window.

Dembele is among several targets for Conte, with speculation focusing on Everton's Romelu Lukaku, PSG attacker Edinson Cavani, Napoli ace Gonzalo Higuain and Inter's Mauro Icardi.

With Bertrand Traore likely to play a more prominent role for the Blues next season, Dembele could be loaned out next season after signing with the club, according to the report.

Dembele is out of contract with the Cottagers in the summer, but because of the FIFA transfer compensation system for players under 24, Fulham would receive a fee for the teenager's top-flight move.
