Wolfsburg veteran Naldo 'honoured' to be linked to Manchester United

VfL Wolfsburg defender Naldo has responded to reports that he's set to add some experience to Louis van Gaal's youthful Manchester United ranks, admitting he's "honoured" to be linked to the club.

The 33-year-old scored twice in his side's 3-2 triumph at Old Trafford in December, and has apparently remained on the radar of United's Dutch gaffer.

"Manchester United is a great club and I'm honoured by their interest," Naldo told Calcio Mercato, according to the Manchester Evening News.

"However I'm fine and I feel at ease here. So now I think only to end of the season."

A horrendous spate of injuries over a significant chunk of the campaign has left duties in defence to a wide variety of young players, including 19-year-old Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Timothy Fosu-Mensah, who's impressed despite only turning 18 in January.

The pair could feature when United welcomes bottom-placed Aston Villa to Stretford on Saturday.
