Report: Kings considering McHale, Jackson, Del Negro as Karl replacements

Cary Edmondson / US PRESSWIRE

The Sacramento Kings haven't officially fired head coach George Karl, but they're reportedly already considering replacement options for when they do.

According to ESPN's Marc Stein, the Kings have Kevin McHale, Mark Jackson, and Vinny Del Negro on their radar. They're expected to fire Karl on Thursday, immediately following their season finale.

Of the three, McHale has the most recent coaching experience, having been relieved of his duties on the Houston Rockets' bench in November. Jackson, meanwhile, was fired by the Golden State Warriors at the end of the 2013-14 season, and Del Negro by the Los Angeles Clippers following the 2012-13 campaign.

Despite each taking his share of criticism, for various reasons, all three have winning coaching records, with McHale boasting the best winning percentage (.556), followed by Del Negro (.533) and Jackson (.526).
