The Minnesota Twins placed starters Kyle Gibson and Ervin Santana on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, according to MLB.com's Rhett Bollinger.
Gibson is reportedly dealing with a shoulder strain, while Santana recovers from back spasms.
The move would explain a report earlier Tuesday that the club was calling up top prospect Jose Berrios, along with Jorge Polanco.
Santana was scratched from his last start in favor of Tyler Duffey, who lasted four innings in a 6-5 loss to the Washington Nationals. Gibson said his injury is minor, adding that he felt it pull during his last start, but pitched through it.
