Bayern's Robben: 'No timeframe' for return puts season in doubt

Arjen Robben's season could be over as the Bayern Munich star admitted there's no timetable for his return from a nagging groin injury that's bothered him throughout the season.

The Dutch international, who has been limited to just 15 Bundesliga appearances this season, spoke about his frustrations with German publication Kicker after experiencing another setback that could potentially end his 2015-16 campaign prematurely.

"I'm working on my comeback, but there is no timeframe," Robben said, as translated by Sky Sports.

"It's really frustrating because I was back in top condition again and was ready for the important games of the season. But I never give up."

Robben, who hasn't featured in Pep Guardiola's team since Bayern's goalless draw with Borussia Dortmund on March 5, appears likely to miss his team's second leg clash with Benfica on April 13 in the Champions League quarterfinals, as well as the German Cup semifinal tie April 19 against Werder Bremen.

The 32-year-old has seven goals and three assists through 22 appearances in all competitions.
