In his first social media statement since losing to Kimbo Slice, Dhafir "Dada 5000" Harris confirmed the frightening consequences of their February encounter.

A combination of heart and kidney maladies left Harris in critical condition following a plodding contest with Slice at Bellator 149. Harris' manager speculated that it could mean retirement for his 38-year-old client.

On Wednesday, the fighter wrote a lengthy message on Instagram to update his fans on his health situation and give thanks for their support (the post has since been deleted):

"Yes, I did have kidney failure during the fight," Harris wrote. "I also had two heart attacks, which I did 'code' aka died during the fight. Glory to the Most High, which saw favor in me to bring me back, which put me in Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston, Texas for more than three weeks after the fight."

As grim as that sounds, the tone of Harris' post was optimistic, so maybe we haven't seen the last of Dada 5000.
