Johnny Manziel's former offensive coordinator at Texas A&M is among those growing concerned with the quarterback's mercurial behavior.

"I'm worried," Kliff Kingsbury told Fox 4 in Dallas, according to the Dallas Morning News. "I obviously want what's best for him, a great friend to me, did a lot for me and my career, so I hope that he can sort things out."

Together, Kingsbury and Manziel spent the 2012 season electrifying the college football world. Manziel was eventually rewarded with the Heisman Trophy, while Kingsbury received a head coaching job at Texas Tech.

The two have since maintained contact, and Kingsbury said he exchanged text messages with "Johnny Football" shortly after the NFL season.

When asked what advice he would give Manziel after his latest mishap - in which he was accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend - Kingsbury said: "Just that he has a lot of friends, a lot of support, people that love him and just to hang in there."
