Baylor's Coleman, Linwood to miss bowl game with injuries

Scott Sewell / USA TODAY Sports

Baylor receiver Corey Coleman has played his final collegiate game.

The 2015 Biletnikoff Award winner will not play in the Bears' upcoming bowl game due to a sports hernia, head coach Art Briles announced Saturday. Running back Shock Linwood will also miss the contest with a foot fracture, Briles added.

Linwood ran for more than 1,300 yards and added 11 total touchdowns in 2015.

Coleman already declared his intentions to turn pro, so the potential first-round pick's next stop will be the NFL.

It's a tough blow for Baylor, which is using third-string quarterback Chris Johnson in the Russell Athletic Bowl against North Carolina. Johnson could use all the offensive weapons he can get, and Coleman and his 20 touchdowns would have been a big security blanket.

The junior finishes his career at Baylor with 173 catches and 33 touchdowns in three seasons.
