Michigan State clinches East Division, will face Iowa in Big Ten Championship Game

Michigan State beat Penn State 55-16 to clinch the Big Ten East division title. The Spartans will now face Iowa next week in Indianapolis for the Big Ten championship.
Here's what you need to know:
- After missing last week's game with a shoulder injury, Spartan quarterback Connor Cook completed 19-of-26 passes for 248 yards and three touchdowns.
- Christian Hackenberg broke the all-time Penn State passing touchdown record with his 47th score through the air just before halftime.
- The Spartans converted 8-of-11 third down attempts.
- The Nittany Lions turned the ball over four times.
- Late in the game, coach Mike Dantonio put senior center Jack Allen in at running back. Allen went on to score a nine-yard touchdown.
- The victory tied the 2013 and 2014 graduating class for most wins in school history with 42.
- It was Michigan State's third division title in the last five years.
- Penn State lost its last three games of the season to fall to 7-5. All three losses were against ranked teams.
