Top high school QB Kyler Murray confirms allegiance to Texas A&M

Top-rated high school quarterback Kyler Murray has officially ended his recruitment, deciding to stick with his original commitment at Texas A&M.

With National Signing Day less than a week away, Murray made the Aggies sweat after taking an unofficial visit to in-state rival Texas. Despite a great experience, he decided to stay where it felt right, according to ESPN's Gerry Hamilton.

"Texas A&M is where my heart is at," Murray said. "Coach (Charlie) Strong and Texas is a great opportunity, but I felt that A&M was the place for me. Not because of my dad having played there, but just the right place for me."

The scenario in which Murray enrolls at Texas A&M couldn't be more perfect - just three weeks ago, TAMU granted the release of quarterback Kenny Hill, paving the way for Murray to slot in as a freshman starter.

That decision was confirmed when Aggies head coach Kevin Sumlin and offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Jake Spavital paid Murray a visit late Thursday night.

"It went well," Murray said. "All my questions were answered. I just can't wait to get this all over with and get back to playing ball."

Murray ended his high school career with 10,388 passing yards and 117 touchdowns. He also accounted for 4,093 rushing yards and 69 scores, en route to a 42-0 record and three state titles as the starting pivot at Allen High in Texas' highest classification.

But Murray isn't just the best quarterback in the high school class, he's also one of the best overall athletes.

An accomplished baseball player, Murray is also projected by some MLB scouts to go as early as  the first round in the 2015 MLB June Draft.

In August, he became the first athlete to play in the Under Armour All-America football and baseball games.
