MAC cancels Buffalo-Kent State game; will not be rescheduled

Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports

The game between between Buffalo and Kent State originally scheduled for Wednesday has officially been cancelled, and will not be rescheduled, the MAC announced Thursday.

The teams were supposed to play at UB Stadium in Buffalo, but extreme weather conditions forced a postponement.

"Despite the best efforts of all involved, it will not be feasible to play the football game between Kent State and Buffalo on Friday. The game has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled. The safety of the student-athletes and fans is paramount. We want to be respectful of the efforts of the emergency service personnel in the Buffalo area who are working to assist those in need," said MAC Commissioner Jon Steinbrecher.

Both teams will conclude their seasons with just 11 games played. The Golden Flashes will take on Akron on Nov. 28, while the Bulls face UMass on the same day, concluding their seasons.
