Report: Ole Miss' Denzel Nkemdiche undergoes ankle surgery, out for season
Justin Ford / USA TODAY Sports
Ole Miss will continue its race to championship glory without a key element.
Linebacker Denzel Nkemdiche underwent season-ending surgery on Sunday to repair a broken ankle he suffered on Saturday versus LSU, ESPN's Edward Aschoff reports.
Nkemdiche, who recorded 28 tackles and a sack in seven games this season, is a former Freshman All-American and two-time All-SEC second team member.
Senior Serderius Bryant will replace him at outside linebacker.
Bryant, who has started four games this season, led the Rebels with 78 tackles in 2013.
