Kansas State hands Oklahoma its 2nd loss of the season

Kansas State's 31-30 victory over Oklahoma was an example of a game that hinged on a single error.

Oklahoma fell by one point, with the Sooners losing a critical extra point when Michael Hunnicutt's kick after a fourth-quarter touchdown was blocked.

Kansas State allowed Oklahoma to gain 533 yards, but intercepted two Sooners passes and averaged five yards per rush to help leave Oklahoma Memorial Stadium with the win. Quarterback Jake Waters proved instrumental in leading the Wildcats to a victory. Waters showed that he has both a talented arm and legs, by completing 15-of-23 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for 51 yards and another score.

Oklahoma's Hunnicutt had a dark day against the Wildcats. The senior kicker went from tying the Big 12 record for career field goals with his first of the game to missing his next two, along with the blocked point-after touchdown.

Hunnicutt's performance makes his tweet in July very awkward:

One bright spot for the Sooners was the performance of wide receiver Sterling Shepard, who tied the school record for receptions in a game with 15 and added 197 yards and a touchdown.

It's pretty obvious at this point that it's not a wise decision to spot the Wildcats a halftime lead.

Kansas State returns home to host Texas next weekend, while the Sooners get a week off before facing Iowa State.
