Thunder's Kevin Durant hopes Oklahoma loses to Texas again

Mark D. Smith-USA TODAY Sports

Oklahoma City Thunder small forward Kevin Durant may play in the Sooner state, but that won't change his feelings towards No. 11 Oklahoma as it gets set to take on Texas Saturday.

“I hope they lose,” Durant said of the Sooners football squad. “Texas is in my blood right now.

Durant played one year for the Longhorns before declaring his eligibility for the 2007 NBA draft. During his time playing for the Thunder, he's made his allegiance to the Longhorns clear, whether it be by flashing the Longhorns symbol or talking trash on Twitter.

“It’s tattooed on me. You already know what I’m going to say,” said Durant. “I don’t want to offend nobody in Oklahoma. They a little sensitive about that.”

In 2011, Durant was involved in a brief Twitter beef with former Sooners safety Tony Jefferson. Jefferson asked Durant to stop trash-talking, calling Durant a jerk for not supporting Oklahoma.

Durant apologized and vowed to back off and hold his tongue.

Still, Friday he didn't mince words. Once a Longhorn, always a Longhorn for this NBA star.

The Sooners and Longhorns battle in Dallas at 12 p.m. ET Saturday.
