Florida State suspends Jameis Winston for entire Clemson game

It appears Florida State has changed its position in regards to the suspension of quarterback Jameis Winston. The Seminoles have now suspended Winston for the entire game against Clemson on Saturday.

Winston was originally suspended for only the first half of Saturday's game, but in a joint statement released by interim Florida State president Garnett S. Stokes and athletic director Stan Wilcox, the Seminoles announced they have extended the punishment.

"Based upon the results of our continuing investigation of Tuesday's incident involving Jameis Winston, we have decided to not play him for the entire game against Clemson on Saturday night," the statement read, per ESPN.

Winston was suspended after he used vulgar language during an on-campus outburst. He may have been further penalized for not being honest with the university about what happened, according to CNN's Rachel Nichols.

Interestingly, the statement did not include the name of head coach Jimbo Fisher a day after he stood firmly behind the decision to suspend Winston for just one half.

With Winston now out for the entire game, Sean Maguire - who will be making his first career start against the Tigers - is expected to play the whole 60 minutes. Maguire's parents are now likely regretting the fact they decided to give up their tickets to the game.
