AUDIO: FSU's Fisher says Winston 'can't do what normal people do'
Florida State's head coach Jimbo Fisher joined SiriusXM College Sports Nation on Thursday and most of the conversation revolved around Jameis Winston's obscene comments and suspension Wednesday.
Fisher revealed details of his conversation with Winston following the incident:
You can’t do what normal people do. There were other students doing it there, but you cannot. You were wrong. You’re Jameis Winston. We live in a glass house. You can’t do the things other people do. He was having fun. I do not justify it. You’ve got to make better decisions. You were wrong.
The Seminoles' coach also said that while he's not justifying Winston's behavior, he believes his quarterback sees himself as a normal college kid.
"He still sees himself as Jameis," Fisher said. "We see him as Jameis the Heisman Trophy winner, and that’s what he has to see, in my opinion, because that’s when the actions will change."
Sophomore Sean Maguire will start for the Seminoles against Clemson in Winston's absence.
