Coach: Iowa State's Jacob Dunning, P.J. Harris likely out for the year

Reese Strickland-USA TODAY Sports

Iowa State's thin receiving corps suffered a blow Monday morning with coach Paul Rhoads saying in a conference call that sophomore P.J. Harris is likely out for the season.

Rhoads said Harris suffered a "fractured leg," confirmed by ESPN's Brandon Chatmon.

The coach said the same about offensive lineman Jacob Dunning, who suffered an apparent Achilles injury.

Harris caught nine passes for 55 yards this season, including a four-reception game in Iowa State's opener against North Dakota State. As a freshman he recorded seven receptions for 67 yards.

Quenton Bundrage, the team's highest-regarded receiver, suffered a torn ACL against North Dakota State and is out for the season. Bundrage recorded nine touchdowns and 676 yards receiving last year as a sophomore.

Dunning is a backup left tackle.

The Cyclones beat Iowa 20-17 on a last-second field goal Saturday.
