College coaches vote on who they wouldn't want their sons to play for

John David Mercer / USA TODAY Sports

In a poll conducted by ESPN's Brett McMurphy, he asked 98 college football coaches the following: If you were no longer coaching and had a son who played football,  which coach would you want him to play for?

While 44 different coaches received at least one vote, there were some notables that received none.

Georgia head coach Mark Richt and Oklahoma’s Bob Stoops tied for the top spot with 8 percent of the vote each, followed by Minnesota’s Jerry Kill (7 per cent), Stanford’s David Shaw (7 per cent) and Duke’s David Cutcliffe (5 per cent).

Coaches without a vote include Alabama’s Nick Saban, LSU’s Les Miles, Florida’s Will Muschamp, Penn State’s James Franklin and Texas Tech’s Kliff Kingsbury.
