Florida State quarterback has really found the spotlight as a two-sport star in Tallahassee, following up his Heisman-winning football season with a strong stint with the school's baseball team.

Head football coach Jimbo Fisher went through the "Car Wash" at ESPN on Monday, and the subject of Winston's experiences on the diamond came up.

This from Fisher's appearance on First Take, via Coaching Search:

“I love it (that he plays baseball). I think baseball helps him as a quarterback. Baseball is a game of failure. Baseball is a much greater game of failure. It’s a whole different mindset. Anytime you’re competing in any sport, I think it’s good, but what baseball teaches you is how to overcome adversity. It teaches you how to fail and fail and fail, and still be able to perform.

“I think as a quarterback, I don’t care how good you are, there are going to be bad moments. There are good to be situations. I think baseball slows it down for him and has made him a better (football) player.”

Winston had only five hits in 39 at-bats, but did find success as a pitcher, posting a 1.08 ERA while striking out 31 batters in 33 1/3 innings.
