Iowa offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor plans to re-enter the transfer portal when the spring window opens, he told Hayes Fawcett of On3.

Proctor spent one year at Alabama before transferring to Iowa in January following head coach Nick Saban's retirement. The former five-star recruit posted on Instagram on Tuesday that he's returning to the Crimson Tide.

Proctor went on spring break last week with some of his former Alabama teammates, according to Scott Dochterman of The Athletic. The Iowa native can't enter the portal until April 15.

"It's home. I love home," Proctor said at the Iowa men's basketball game in January, per Dochterman. "This is ultimately where I wanted to be. It's the first place I thought of when I entered the transfer portal. So I had my mind made up when I entered the transfer portal."

Proctor also committed to Iowa during his 2022 recruiting cycle but decided to join Alabama a few months later. He started 14 games as a true freshman for the Crimson Tide in 2023.

Iowa athletic director Beth Goetz said in February that the school would self-report a Level III recruiting violation after having impermissible contact with Proctor last season.
