Mississippi State's Malik Dear: Tears ACL

Dear tore his ACL and will be re-evaluated to determine a timetable sometime in August, Sam Cooper of Yahoo! Sports reports.

Analysis:

This is a tough break for both Mississippi State as well as Dear, who was projected to be the team's number two receiver heading into next season. Last season, Dear caught 23 balls for 264 yards and two touchdowns. Gabe Myles and Jamal Couch could see expanded roles as a result of Dear's injury.
