Notre Dame's Colin McGovern transfers to Virginia

Notre Dame offensive lineman Colin McGovern will graduate and transfer to Virginia for his final NCAA season, he confirmed Tuesday to Mike Vorel of the South Bend Tribune.

McGovern started eight games at right guard for the Fighting Irish in 2016, and appeared in 21 contests over his four years at the school.

Notre Dame is set to return four starters on its offensive line next season, while McGovern should help beef up a Cavaliers front that struggled throughout most of this year.
