Matt Bush-USA TODAY Sports

Former Mississippi State defensive tackle Quay Evans has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with a shooting that left one man dead in Morton, Miss., according to The Northeast Daily Journal.

Evans was also charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault after another man was taken to hospital in critical condition. The incident happened late Saturday evening, and Evans, along with his brother Samuel Mortez Evans, was arrested Sunday.

Evans was a four-star recruit - ranked No. 140 overall by ESPN and No. 5 in the state of Mississippi - when he committed to the Bulldogs as part of their 2012 class. He played in 15 games over two seasons, but was dismissed from the team after a series of arrests. He later transferred to West Georgia.
