Houston president Renu Khator is feeling pretty good about the amount of coverage her university and its football program has received lately.

So much so, Khator is already placing high expectations on newly hired head coach Major Applewhite after just two days on the job.

"The winning is defined at University of Houston as 10 and 2," she told university officials at the schools annual holiday party at her home, according to Brian Rogers of Houston Chronicle. "We'll fire coaches at 8 and 4."

Houston fired former coach Tony Levine after a 7-5 season in 2014, which was preceded by an 8-5 year following a bowl loss.

The enthusiasm didn't stop there, as Khator continued to pull punches.

"Think about our business model. We hired the best, got the best out of them and made money on the exit," she said to applause. "That's our business model."

Finally, Khator poked some fun at former Houston head coaches who left for bigger programs, while giving support for Tom Herman at Texas.

"I told them I hope he does better for you than (Kevin) Sumlin is doing for A&M or (Art) Briles did for Baylor."

The holiday season is always a giving time of year, and Khator was slinging the jokes Friday.
