USC's Adoree' Jackson has been named the 2016 Jim Thorpe Award winner as the nation's top defensive back.

Jackson is one of the country's most versatile players, but he's made his name as a shutdown corner. In addition to running four kicks back for touchdowns this season, the junior added four interceptions and 11 passes defensed.

He also totaled 52 tackles for the Trojans defense.

If Jackson elects to to declare for the 2017 NFL Draft, he'll likely hear his named called in the first or second round.

Jackson becomes the second USC player to win the Thorpe Award, as Mark Carrier was given the distinction in 1989.
